Green to Clean

You can say "Thank You" to algae for causing your pool to turn green. Unfortunately, this can be a common problem during the spring and summer months. Algae tends to bloom much quicker when the temperature gets warmer. In addition to warmer weather, here are some additional reasons why your pool may be turning green with algae.

  1. There is a pool chemical imbalance. Either the pH levels are too low or too high.
  2.  There is a clog in a pool filter. When this happens,  the filter cannot remove enough algae and bacteria to keep your pool water clear.
  3. Plants and trees near the pool. When trees and plants drop their leaves into the pool, it can cause the pH levels to become imbalanced.

Algae in a pool is a much higher health risk than algae in natural bodies of water. In a pool, algae can also indicate the existence of dangerous bacteria. You do not want to swim in your pool until it is clean of all algae.

If your pool is too green, we may need to drain and acid-wash the pool, instead of shocking it.  If you can see at least six to eight inches below the surface of the water, we will be able to treat it chemically.

Southern Pool and Spa, LLC is ready to provide the best pool service required to get your pool from green to clean.
