Leak Detection

Swimming pools will naturally lose water due to evaporation. The average pool, without a cover, can lose up to 2 inches of water per week. A pool that is losing more than this average amount, needs to be checked for a possible leak. If the leak goes undetected, it can lead to costly repairs. In addition to abnormal water loss, the most common warning signs that point to a pool leak are:

  1. Cracking or Shifting Tiles - This can be caused by the excess water in the surrounding soil.
  2. Higher Water Bills - Sky rocketing water bills are a sure sign of the pool using more water than is necessary.
  3. Algae Growth -  Continually adding new, untreated water to a leaking pool often leads to fluctuating chemical consumption and algae growth or discoloration.
  4. Water Under Equipment - A visual inspection can help identify this sign of a leak.

Southern Pool and Spa, LLC is ready to help you find the leak and prevent any further damage.
